This pizza base is quite simple to make and you can have fun with the toppings – either follow this recipe or experiment with your own! You will find the cider vinegar gives this base quite an authentic flavor too.

NY Style Thin Crust Pizza

This crust is veggie-based, making it even more of a healthy option and you end up with a light and crispy base with a bit of a chew. This recipe is a great idea if you are catering for people who are gluten or grain intolerant.

Pizza Crust

Ingredients: yuca cassava, avocado oil, palm shortening, coconut flour, sea salt, dried herbs.

This is another veggie-based crust which can be a useful addition to your recipe collection! It turns a lovely golden color when cooked, so it even looks appetizing. Try not to use too many wet ingredients in the topping as this can make the base soggy – have some fun experimenting! The dough can be stored in the refrigerator, or it can be frozen, giving you a quick base to dress up for unexpected guests!

Thin Crust Pizza

Ingredients: arrowroot starch, coconut flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, sea salt or truffle salt, extra-virgin olive oil, warm water.

Sometimes AIP pizza bases can be brittle and fall apart easily, making them totally unacceptable as finger foods, but this one holds together really well. It takes on a great color and can be made into little ones to serve to the children or for party food when you have friends in. This is another pizza base that can be easily frozen, but if you are making more than one, we suggest you place parchment between the bases so they can be separated easily.

This pizza is full of flavor and is so appealing to look at that it is sure to become a family favorite! The sauce has the same sweetness and tartness as a tomato-based one and is the perfect partner for your choice of toppings.

BBQ Chicken Pizza

Here is a great pizza recipe for people who are intolerant of eggs, as the base has gelatine instead. This makes the pizza base more like a flatbread and less likely to fall apart when you pick it up. The addition of herbs to the mixture gives the base a real Mediterranean taste but they are optional. The toppings used here are delicious, but feel free to use your own choices instead!

The toppings used here are so true to the traditional Italian flavors, especially the pesto and olives, and it can be trusted to impress even the firmest sceptics of AIP.

Italian Sausage Flatbread Pizza

Ingredients: arrowroot flour, coconut flour, baking soda, truffle salt or sea salt, olive oil, ground beef or pork, dried oregano, Herbs de Provence, granulated garlic, mushrooms, yellow squash, fresh rosemary, carrot, pear, garlic.

This recipe uses a sweeter veggie sauce that is packed with flavor, and it would work well with loads of different toppings. It is so nice to find a flatbread recipe that really tastes of bread – another thing that you can miss a lot when following a dietary regime! Don’t worry if you can’t find truffle salt – a really good sea salt works just as well here.
